Which sender address your customers see

Overview

Emails that Kyvento sends on your behalf – invoices, dunning notices, payment reminders – carry Kyvento's sender address when using standard delivery. Your customers therefore do not see your own domain in the sender. This article explains why that is – and how your own address becomes the sender instead.

Why Kyvento's address appears as the sender

There is a technical reason for this. Recipient mailboxes check whether an email really originates from the domain shown in the sender. If Kyvento sent emails carrying your domain through its own delivery infrastructure, that check would fail – the messages would be classified as forged and end up in the spam folder or be rejected outright. That is exactly what we want to avoid for an invoice.

How your own address becomes the sender

If your customers should see your own address, store your own mail server (SMTP) under Settings → Email delivery. Kyvento then sends through your infrastructure, and your domain remains the sender – the authenticity check passes because the email really does come from you.

Using the DNS check

The DNS check in the email settings shows you whether SPF, DKIM and DMARC are set up correctly for your domain. That is the prerequisite for emails from your own server arriving reliably. For delivery via Kyvento you do not need these records.
