Checkout & hosted pages

Setting up hosted pages

Overview

With hosted pages you sell your subscriptions without a single line of your own code: Kyvento provides a ready-made product overview and a multi-step checkout for your account – all you need to do is add the links. This article shows where the links come from and which basic settings control the sales process.

The checkout link

Every active product has its own checkout address following the pattern:

…/checkout/your-account-slug/product/product-slug

The quickest way to get there is via the product detail page: the "Checkout" button in the action bar opens the page directly. Place this link on your website, in emails, or in ads. There is also a product overview page that lists all active products – you can turn it on and off in the settings.

Basic settings

Under Settings → "Hosted Pages" (the "Checkout" group) you configure the sales process:

  • Sell to: business customers, private customers, or both – with both, the buyer chooses in the checkout ("I am ordering as a private individual/company").
  • Subscription booking: the "Same product bookable multiple times" option lets a customer hold several parallel subscriptions of the same product – by default, Kyvento prevents duplicate bookings.
  • Legal pages: URLs to your terms and conditions, privacy policy, and legal notice – they are linked in the checkout.
  • Redirects: your own target URLs after success, cancellation, or error – including selectable parameters for your own further processing (see "Conversion tracking and analytics").
  • Form fields: visibility and required status of the checkout fields – every unnecessary field costs conversions.

Language

The checkout speaks German and English. You control the language per link via the ?locale=de or ?locale=en parameter – without a parameter, Kyvento chooses sensibly and automatically (last used language, account language, browser language).

Recommended setup

  1. Store your legal page URLs – you should not sell without terms and conditions and right-of-withdrawal information.
  2. Adapt the design to your brand – see "White-label checkout: customizing the design".
  3. Run through a test purchase in your own checkout – ideally with a test product.
  4. Optionally activate your own domain – see "Using your own checkout domain".
