Which sender address your customers see
Overview
Emails that Kyvento sends on your behalf — invoices, dunning notices, payment reminders — carry Kyvento's sender address when standard delivery is used. So your customers do not see your own domain in the sender field. This article explains why that is and how it can be changed.
Why the Kyvento address appears as the sender
The reason is technical, not cosmetic. Receiving mailboxes check whether a message really originates from the domain given as the sender. If Kyvento sent messages carrying your domain through its own sending infrastructure, that check would fail — the messages would be classified as forged and end up in the spam folder or be rejected outright.
For an invoice that is the worst possible outcome. Kyvento therefore prefers to send visibly under its own address rather than disappear invisibly into a spam folder. Your company name still appears in the sender name and in the body of the message — only the technical address belongs to Kyvento.
How your own address becomes the sender
There is exactly one route: Kyvento has to send through your own sending infrastructure. Then the message genuinely comes from you, the authenticity check passes, and your domain stays the sender.
You choose the delivery route under "Settings" → "Email Sending". Expect to need somebody with access to your mail server and your DNS records for this — it is not a setting you flip in passing.
Using the DNS check
The DNS check in the same settings shows you whether SPF, DKIM and DMARC are correctly set up for your domain. That is the prerequisite for messages from your own server to arrive reliably — and it is worth doing for every email you send, independently of Kyvento.
For standard delivery via Kyvento you do not need these records: there, Kyvento takes care of authenticating its own sender domain.
